Even if I don't think I can assess today the whole extent of their existence, I would say yes for this one (as it is the only one I have good pictures of) mainly because I think it looks fantastic.
I think I could even prefer this one over a 5970R (a watch I love) for instance (same budget).
Furthermore, I just can see a positive impact (value or image) on the existing references as there are only 5-pieces made and no real publicity about them (no official pictures yet).
It can be considered as a kind of gift to a few clients for their dedication to the brand and more important to me, an example of Patek's very fine taste in watchmaking.
This is a compliment we can say about any 5070s and I would personally say even more so for this one.
So, I can't think of a negative downsidehere.
The fact that the inspiration comes from discontinued references: it still is discontinued, they just made an extra, very limited anniversary edition with a differnt dial color (like the 5396 Tiffany was for instance)=> I don't see any impact on the previous references or any other kind with such a low number. I would even say the opposite as it reminds at which points the 5070 is appealing and iconic considering Patek's legacy.
This is not for money as they absolutely don't need it, especially for such a small volume produced.
No financial interest, just the pleasure to launch a little number of very fine pieces from the 2 last decades.
I can't find a valid and objective reason which would lead me to say: it was better without it as It is so marvelous.
That's just how I see it Fricks
Cheers, Mark
