Hi Miles, I prefer the 5980 to the 5960
The 5960's dial has too many things hapening at once. The glass as with many Pateks is in serious need of A/R coating. The photos you have posted bare this out nicely. There are several chronographs I would prefer over the 5960...Such as the 1815 chronograph, the Patek 5070P, Speedmaster professional, and VC Malte 47120.

Yet!!! IMHO, it is the essence of modern Patek. Innovative, understated (in plat), and quite practical in terms of complications. A chronograph that can actually be used in real life! Most events I want to time don't stop at 30mins.

I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I did from the first moment I set eyes on it but after owning one and wearing it often I simply love it..... In fact I would even go as far to say that if it were to house a Minute Repeater I would not need to own another watch......
