but it's not my favorite.
It is a nice watch but I'm not a big fan of the bulls-eye, I prefer 2 subdials instead of one. And I would love to see the numers and hands of the chrono in another color (black and beige , NOT red and blue)
So, it's not high on my wishlist but I wouldn't mind owning one
I tried on both watches and confirmed my opinions formed from pictures. I think the "bulls-eye" chrono harmonizes with the 5980 Nautilus case and looks very good. So good, in fact, that I now own one!
I had just the opposite reaction to the 5960. It has a "wacky" look. I know of no better way to describe it.
Regarding the concentric totalizer display, it is very easy to read. I also like the vertical clutch design that allows the constant running of the chronograph for a seconds hand, along with the somewhat random display of the chronograph hands at any given time while running the seconds hand.
That's my opinion!
The 5960's dial has too many things hapening at once. The glass as with many Pateks is in serious need of A/R coating. The photos you have posted bare this out nicely. There are several chronographs I would prefer over the 5960...Such as the 1815 chronograph, the Patek 5070P, Speedmaster professional, and VC Malte 47120.
Cheers,

I also went back and forwards with my decision making.
But now I have come down on the side of like.
The presence on your wrist is nice and very well balanced.
The practicality of the complications is spot on............I much prefer a chronograph to be able to measures hours and not just minutes.
The Annual Calendar is great day to day complication and is so easy to read.
And the movement is ALL in house...............Although saying that the Lemania movement is totally stunning.
My only reservation is the pushers, I much prefer square one's The round one's always look more vulnerable to catching and breaking then the square one's. The aesthetics of the square pushers also imo look a lot better.

but now not so much, though I certainly don't hate it.
The case and the wrist fit of this watch are spectacular.
But, even though the chrono mono-counter looks nice, it is very hard to read. And the chrono pushers are stiff and with unsatisfactory feel to me for a chrono at this level. I also have to say the annual calendar is OK, but not much special--I would rather have a simple calendar such as the 5980.
Another minor detail I did not like about this watch was the completely smooth, no resistance feel of the crown with manual winding. May just be me, but I like a little feedback when I am winding my watch, and enjoy this experience. I suppose I could have simply kept it on a winder, but I have become not much of a fan of winders.
The 5960 was hard to part with, but not one of those watches I miss too much when looking back. Now if Patek would just put their new manual chrono in this same case...........
