Apart from my previous job, I have never had anything for 12 years! The longest I have had a watch is 6 years, a home 5 years, a car 4 yeas and a wife also 4 years! and 12 years is the sum of my four marriages put together!!

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm. 🙏🙏🙏 But as for watches, I stopped collecting too when getting my grail IWC Minute Repeater in 2019. After this „hard“ turning point (I even took an oath!), three more wonderful watches found their way into my collec... 

Very consistent and almost brutal. I sold my GP Sea Hawk II, I sold my JLC Grande Date 8 jours, I sold some Panerais, I sold my Rolex Day Date 36 mm (this was a mistake!!) etc etc. I even sold a Patek AC 5146G (no mistake!!) because I didn’t really love i... 

and with it my visit to the factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds is getting closer and I am very afraid of holding this dream piece in my hands in person. I have no idea what my resilience will be like. I am currently trying to come up with all sorts of arguments... 

Of course i don’t want to compare marriages and watch collecting. 😁 And 13 years of abstinence are very good anyway. Whereby „abstinence“ is probably to be seen in relative terms in your case. 🙏😉

Divorces are a lot more expensive than minute repeaters so I would thread ultra carefully in my old age especially as I am retired, unemployed with zero income!!

I completely understand you! Having the choice between a possible divorce and a Minute Repeater, I opted for the Minute Repeater. 👍😉😁

I'll be receiving an IWC 7 day Portuguese in rose gold, which I've admired for going on ten years now. There really isn't anything I'm interested in other than that, and call me cynical, but I imagine that the upcoming watch releases next week will be mor...

for being able to establish your 'final' watch. That for many of us would be near impossible and for me, definitely not. My final watch would simply be the last one I buy before I pop off one day. It may not be the most expensive or complicated piece but ...
