150 different.....modern....religious sects, based on that one book.
Having said that, and being part of an...earlier...discussion, I don't have "structural" problems in accepting that everyone can...interpret...the origins. I have no problem with people liking those God awful contraptions such as Submersibles and Breiteling wannabes (317 being a shining example of that current). What I have a problem with (personal to be sure) is that
these models have been manufactured, perhaps, for the gung-ho-crucifix-on-hairy-chest-mucho-macho chaps, that can't live with the fact that the real frogmen, the guys that went and blew up ships FOR REAL, during a real WAR, were doing it with a 232 (3646) lookalike. I have a problem with the people that think the Bronzo...impersonate that...gung-ho yada, yada, yada spirit...
I have 21 Panerais. Some 47, some 44, one 42, one 45. Radiomir or Luminor all, some in SS, some in Ti, and one in pink gold. I therefore cannot be considered a square.
The movements? They don't much matter to me, since Panerai have been...assemblers...all along.
I also don't have a problem with all the models that are being maufactured...the automatics, the dated ones, the cycloped ones, the ones with bracelets, the 40mm/42mm etc etc. In short I don't have a problem with Richemont (and Panerai before them) doing everything they think they have to do to.....MAKE...money...
But when, as they say in English, the chips are down a Panerai (for people that don't live in denial) should be hour only, SS, closed back, 47mm and......manual...
That's what the 3646 was. And everyone that believes they have too small a wrist
to be able to wear a 47mm, that they are not complicated enough, that believe they can't live without a GPS on their dial, should go buy themselves a...Rolex, PP, Breguet, G-shock...or whatever their scrawny little wrists and multi tasking mind can witstand...hahahahaha
