that's a clever approach. Only, IMO, instead of drawing the line at movements the....demarkation lines....should be 3, actually:
1) The assembling period (the vintage era with the Marina Militare as the sole driver of the evolution) Super CULT stuff.
2) The Panerai&Figlio...commercial....endevour, known as Pre-V. CULT stuff
3) The Richemont era. Wider customer base. Catering for a wider public and in-house movement, taking full advantage of the manufacturing capabilities of the group and the need to create the "future" Panerai.
Where do I stand? As written earlier, I believe that Richemont has the task of carrying Panerai well into the future and as such are entitled to create any model they believe will help them do so. As for the in-house movements, I'm all in favour since this will put Panerai (in not too distant a future) on a more equal playing field with the....celebrated....horologiers.
After all, folks, only by furthering the life of Panerai, whichever way Richemont sees fit, the historic and heroic part of the name will remail a....living...legacy..
Will I wear a 305 or a 317 on my wrist....not in a million years....
Cheers - Sergio
