But later changed my mind as I realized that I was captivated by the Radiomir Panerai script. The font, the size, the spacing very much like the 372. I like the font execution on the 47mm cases vs say the one on my zero for example. I think the font/logo of pieces like the 372 is very much an important design element as the case/plexi/crown gurad is.
Ok now back to the 721 vs 372..
If I had to choose, I would go with the 372.. first. Not that I'm more a Luminor crown guard guy. I love the Rad case as well. If I had to go sterile, I'd prefer the 249. I find the 721 too balanced which makes me prefer the cali dial on the 249 or the script on the 720.
As for the 372, based on your pictures, you can easily feel the warmth on the 372.. probably just a bit more historic feel (not to be confused with DNA but something that one can say that it belongs to a certain bygone era). Something Jules Verne would wear (maybe more than the PP Nautilus). I love the anonymity of the 721. But sometimes it can leave me a bit cold.
If I had to pursue a collecting theme, I'd add a 720 to match my 372. Then a 587 and a 662. From an older time, a 249 and a 201/A. And if I had spare cash after that, yeah, a 721. Just because it's a great design notwithstanding.
My 372 says hi. Best, Echi
