Hi Polaris68,
I understand your frustration but hope you'll forget it soon when you'll see your watch!
I was surprised by the first pics of the real watch myself, but was very happy when I put it on my wrist.
Actually I'm used to seeing non-matching vintage Polaris.
I saw a matching one recently and was very surprised to see such a match:

Maybe it would have been better if JLC had delivered the intended dial first, but I like the dial I have on my wrist. And I'm happy to have it NOW!
I should add that I have no idea of the colour of the dial that will be delivered finally, and if the hands will match or not.
Love them or leave them!

When you dive, at least there is clear distinction between the hands and the dial. Maybe JLC thought along those lines, it should be seen as an updated model, not as a replica of the old model. Cheers, just my silly opinion.

It was a mistake, to speak crystal clear.
But as JLC didn't want to delay the release of the first Polaris, they let the choice to the first owners to change the dial for free... And it will concern only a few Polaris. So, once again , I don't see the problem, and I'm curious to see how many owne...

JLC did make a mistake. They had 2 options in solving the problem: They could hold up delivery of all Polaris until a new batch of "good" dials is available. A consequence of this would be that you would know nothing about the mistake and a few more month...

I think the dial and hands looks best with the same color - there would be no problem if the hands also was as dark as the "off color". So... Maby you can ask JLC to change the color of the hands instead of getting a new dial.....?!?

... by this pic Somehow it looks strange (at least to me), as I am so used to non-matching hands (which I prefer). I guess it just goes to show that tritiun ages differently as we can see examples of both cases (although most frequently hands don't match)...
