time has that effect and
.... of course the love for beautiful watches... however I have never sold a watch on the basis of not liking someone! Well yet...
With bigger brands you always come across people who can rub you up the wrong way but then they move on from the big machine. Independents are different as in its normally the same guy or guys. First impressions cannot always be great as you can catch people at the wrong time or place, but I can always change my mind... but for the one I referred to... no going back they went out of business!
I had not thought about it again until I read the thread as there are plenty of good guys out there making great pieces and of course there are more on the wish list than money in my bank!

I had an experience a couple of years ago when I really wanted a watch and even chose the model I was going to buy... but then met the person behind the company who was the rudest person ever, not just to me but to his staff as well. I had the money ready...
Another experience...

Years ago, I purchased an independent watch from a relatively (at the time) unknown watchmaker based entirely upon the look/style. I liked the watch a lot, but after having a chance to share an evening and many glasses of wine with the watchmaker, my appr...

Somehow this thread 'deteriorated' into (possibly) not liking the watchmaker. I started it by asking if there is a watchmaker that you LOVE everything about... except his watches? Is this a strange example of human nature flipping a subject around? Oh wel...
