Quick poll: date or no date?
Aug 28, 2019,18:25 PM
I was realizing the other day that many of us are biaised and clearly dislike a date window on the dial. Even if I am not an extremist in this respect as some other friends here… (guess who I am thinking of hahaha) I must confess that I am also in the same camp in general and usually prefer a clean dial rather than one with a date window.
On the other hand I was thinking about the huge success of some watches such as the Nautilus (I was particularly thinking about the 5711) and the AP Royal Oak whether 15202, 5402 which most of watch aficionados love.
I thought that is a big contradiction and I was wondering why… I was trying to find a reasonable explanation and thought it might be that the classy sporty style of the watch goes well with a discrete date window? I tried to find other explanations and could not...
How about you for a classy sporty watch with no particular complications (neither a diver nor a chronograph), would you go for date or no date if you had the choice ?
Looking forward to your votes...
