Horological Meandering

Why not?

In general, I'm in favor of limited editions. But I also dislike the fact that they are, well, limited. If you don't take advantage when it comes out, there's a slim change you'll get one later, in cases where the production nuumbers are truly limited. Of course, it all depends on what LEs mean to a watch company and how it handles it. I'm not impressed how AP, Panerai, Hublot, and Omega treat limited editions, basically just another series of their watches. There are smarter ways I think to release LEs. New/different case/dial colors, and even materials, that's what usually makes a LE. It should be something somewhat considerable, not just a little spot of color on the dial.
