To be very frank, not only am I uninterested in these co-branded LEs, but for me the overall appeal of a brand *decreases* once they openly engage in these financial operations with little to no horological/historical significance.

It's true, like other friends already mentioned, that for as long as brands are certain to find a few hundred people who pay up, these countless "limited" editions are unlikely to stop. And as Patrick put it, all of this is good for executive bonuses, especially for brands within large groups that have to respond to the market in the short term.
However, how about the brand's image in the medium or long run, when the current executives have moved on to different businesses while we are stuck with their watches? Anybody should be free to make their own informed decisions, but as a watch enthusiast (purist?), that is the main question I would ask myself ;-)
