Audemars Piguet: In my humble opinion

A decidedly casual watch, due to size and height, as well as design. It doesn't fit under your cuff, and so doesn't fit with black tie. I'd opt for a different option here.

Vacheron Constantin: Not too old fashioned

But I find it too large, the 38mm Traditionnelle is much nicer

Vacheron Constantin: At 150M WR you can absolutely swim, shower, hot tub with the Overseas!

If its been 5+ years go get it pressure tested at your nearest boutique (for free) but otherwise the seals and gaskets should have a service life of 20+ years so there shouldn't be any real reason for failure.

Vacheron Constantin: I wish I had a good one

sadly, the lighting was horrendous in the space so any pic I tried to take of the pair turned out poorly. Notice the hand length (Longer on the series 1) and the crown (Smaller on the series one). I disappointingly didn't get a shot of the casebacks.

Patek Philippe: Yes, only 5 of this model I believe

Made in 2015 for the Patek Grand Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London. There were a few other pieces in this Saatchi LE series, all with similar colored dials, and they're all quite lovely.

Interestingly I got to hold this (47101/2) and the original next to each other when deciding and its astounding the number of differences that could be fou

Vacheron Constantin: Indeed

The English version of the book also clearly states "silver dial stamped using the frappé technique with applied markers" while other entries on the page clearly reference guilloché . Very strange.

Vacheron Constantin: Best Vacheron book?

I recently finished reading The Cartiers which was an amazing book, cannot recommend it enough, and I was interested in finding a good book on the history of Vacheron. I've seen a few coffee table books, but hopeing for something more along The Cartiers or the Salomons' Breguet book. Any recommendat

Vacheron Constantin: What do you love about Vacheron?

I'm curious of owners as I've not yet waded into the VC owner club, but I am curious what you feel VC excels in compared to modern rivals like PP, ALS and AP, and where they pale in comparison? Is there something you wish VC would do more of or return to?
