Horological Meandering

That is the right approach!

Watches are built to be worn, just as cars are built to be driven. I never understood people collecting cars only to seal them into plastic and protective atmosphere. The same applies to art. My wife's former boss collects paintings, but does not hang them onto the wall; instead, they are stored in a climate chamber and never looked at.

But returning to watches: Fact is that, sometimes, we are intrigued by a timepiece, only to find out that the thrill dies sooner or later. Then, this watch becomes a mere body in the collection, without "life". When it is worn, then only out of a bad conscience, about having spent so much money on something that is left forgotten in a box. In my opinion, it is then better to sell it, and to offer it to someone else who might have more joy wearing it.
