Fat and heavy

Up to the F-series, the 911s were rather light and nimble. By growing them fatter and bigger, Porsche has done those enthusiasts a disservice who want to feel their cars directly, visceral and analog. The G-series started the gain weight disease in 1974. Today, should you desire a light car with superb handling go past the Porsche-Dealership and look for Alpine, GR 86 and the like. Going up the Alpine roads is much more fun than lugging a 911 round..

those were the days.....

This one served my wife for 20 + years as a daily driver. She even took it to patient house calls. The 911 T 2.4 that preceded it would have been more useful for these...

True widow maker. Frightening when the Turbo kicked in. Handled it without incident for a couple of month and then couldn’t take it any more and passed it on. No regrets.

Cheers from Old Europe
