I spoke to Felix Baumgartner at length about the piece, along with the technical director at UN (two separate conversations); without boring you to death, all I can say is that both DNAs were really well integrated. Both sides were able to get their DNAs into the piece. The collaboration went really well; both individuals told me the collaboration went really well and there was no disparity on either side of which task should be assigned to which brand. So you've got a Freak winding system, but an Urwerk display system - perfectly integrated.

I had my moment where I really liked Urwerk, had three at one time.
But the more I look at it, it's more of the same nothing really excites me from them anymore.
My view is that
Urwerk’s star wheel time display has been by now undermined by a score of other independents that provide similar technology and futuristic looks but in much much cheaper watches. And some of them manage to look more interesting and trendy, like for examp...
Both brands need attention and sales
and I hope this collaboration helps. It is an interesting one, but clearly can not challenge the best of each brands.
More Urwerk than Freak to me.
The only hint of Freak is the lock tab at 6 o’clock. The Freak S is way more cool.

They gave me a UR-FREAK bumper sticker with the press kit! It's a great collaboration in a sense that DNAs from both brands are integrated so well! Very impressive in that regard!
