I love Urwerk, I love even more the Freak, but I am not convinced by this " fusion ". Maybe I neeed some time? My first thought is that it is hard to touch to an Icon. And the Freak is.
When I first received the announcement I thought about Nico and said “I don’t think he’ll like this compared to the original”🤔
I had my moment where I really liked Urwerk, had three at one time.
But the more I look at it, it's more of the same nothing really excites me from them anymore.
My view is that
Urwerk’s star wheel time display has been by now undermined by a score of other independents that provide similar technology and futuristic looks but in much much cheaper watches. And some of them manage to look more interesting and trendy, like for example Otsuke Lotec etc.
I like the look but mixing two great brands is challenging conceptually. Not sure I like that part.
I need to see a bit more before I can make a real judgement, it does feel more Urwerk than UN. I do like that strap!
Both brands need attention and sales
and I hope this collaboration helps. It is an interesting one, but clearly can not challenge the best of each brands.
It's......interesting. I feel like it's not the best of either. Sometimes marriages or maybe affairs just don't work out.
More Urwerk than Freak to me.
The only hint of Freak is the lock tab at 6 o’clock.
The Freak S is way more cool.
