... for your compassionate words!
Fourteen years ago, after my Collie "Shannon" had died, I expressed my feelings in a post at the PuristS. The reaction and sympathies I received where so overwhelming that it really helped me. Now again. My wife looked at pictures of Chagall and wept, I read all your kind replies and wept, so we all have our individual ways to deal with the sorrow.
Chagall was not only a dog and a family member, but also my partner in Search and Reascue (SAR) work. Whenever we were searching a missing person, be it in training or in a real mission, I knew I could count on him without reservation, that he would always give 100%. Not because he was aware of the seriousness. For him, all the search work was a playful game. But I knew he would be satisfied only when working with his human partner with full concentration, until he got my assurance that he performed well. then he became a bundle of pure joy and pride. It was his full commitment to everything he did that I always admired, and he remained true to himself until the very last hours.
When Chagall was two years old, we met the charismatic president of Ulysse Nardin, Rolf Schnyder. Rolf was so impressed by Chagall, that he did not miss any opportunity to send greetings specifially to him, be it in a phone call or a Christmas card. Now, whereever they are, they might spend some time together.
Thank you once again for your sympathies!
Marcus
