Why do these people live in the same society as we do?
I stopped by a bakery in suburban DC, to pick up some dessert, after church, and discovered this..
A break-in — I was only away from the car for 5-7 minutes. No watches involved but three expensive pens were in the tote bag, plus the Bible of my deceased mother, that was stolen. Sad state of affairs. ...

I’m in complete disbelief! I honestly didn’t think anyone would be so bold as to break a car window like that in broad daylight…
and just for pens and a BIBLE??!! Is the human conscience so dead as to steal a Bible😞. I’m so sorry this happened to you, but I sincerely appreciate you raising awareness.

I have learned to NEVER leave a bag exposed in an unoccupied vehicle if at all possible. All it takes is the blink of an eye, the thieves are gone before anyone realzes what just happened. In the trunk, glovebox, under the seat, it goes, or if possible it...
That sucks.
It’s amazing when people act with no conscience or decency. I’ll tell you what they won’t throw away, the pens. As for the Bible, It holds no meaning to them.

And most of the time, reporting to police is just pointless. Same thing happened to a friend (in Austin, TX) and the police just said to us there wasn’t much they could do or would do.
So sad to hear this.
Things of sentimental value is emotionally tough to get stolen/loose. The world is a fantastic place - it’s the people living here that’s the problem.

It’s SO aggravating. I’m sorry about your loss. Several cars in our neighborhood got hit a few weeks ago - it’s random and very painful. We always take our camera, wallets, etc. with us when we do our morning walks. I have a few extra Bibles (from my mom)...
Endnote — the police officer who responded to the complaint has reached out to me. They think they have ay least identified the vehicle…
