"Bling" the Gold Fish .... 'AU.... behave yourself'.
Hi Graham,
After all our discussions about Diamonds... and given that everyone should have a little BLING in their collection, I would submit;
Bling.
But being an ex Police officer you might also consider;
AU
AU for gold, sure.... but as a Policeman.... if the Gold fish was up to no good you could say "A U"... as in "HEY YOU.... I am watching you"

Hello Allen, I'm surprised that the fish lived for 3 years! I guess she has the magic touch. Did you feed the fish the food flakes? I used to do bread crumbs on those carnival goldfish and they really liked eating it. -MW
Just the fish flakes are enough to keep them alive.
My friend's goldfish lived for almost 10 years and grew to almost a foot long!

We think very much alike! Another vote for Auric. I was also thinking about the scientific name of gold and the famous James Bond film. We can't call the goldfish Scaramanga; so Auric would be my choice.

What about "PG" (pronounce: pee-gee)?
Sounds childlike and alludes to the gold aspect of the fish - but as the goldfish definitely has an orange-reddish color, is more appropriate than "WG" or "YG" . Apart from that "PG" might serve for futher wordplay like having people guess what this stand...
