today our 11 year old son Henry won a goldfish at the local carnival(and 1st prize in the fancy dress, but thats another story). i didnt know they still did things like having goldfish in plastic bags, but they still do around here.

anyway he wants to call it Fred which is a bit boring so i thought i'd ask you to come up with as many funny names as you can just to lighten the tone of the weekend.

i'll start with my offering....Sushi. a good name for a goldfish i think.

It was also caught at a school event and brought home in a plastic bag. That was 3 years ago and it's still alive!

I'm surprised that the fish lived for 3 years!  I guess she has the magic touch.  Did you feed the fish the food flakes?  I used to do bread crumbs on those carnival goldfish and they really liked eating it.

My friend's goldfish lived for almost 10 years and grew to almost a foot long!

...his name should be Auric.  After Auric GOLDfinger from the James Bond series.  Auric also hearkens back to the scientific symbol for gold (Au).

I was also thinking about the scientific name of gold and the famous James Bond film.

We can't call the goldfish Scaramanga; so Auric would be my choice.

Although others have already suggested Nemo, you can always use Dory as a name suggestion.  Ariel is another good one from Disney.
