As we approach Basel and the anticipation of what Rolex will unveil for 2018, it occurred to me that it would be a useful process to take a look at the current range and pose a question: If I could have just three watches from the current collection, what...

The reason coke maybe easier to manufacture is that the process maybe similar to the blue black The red blue is difficult to make Effectively you start with a green bezel that you add pigments that when heated turn either blue or red But with blue black y...

all dial/bezel combinations on their website. Actual product range is much, much broader. For me, I LOVE two models from the current line up and I am fortunate to own both. I think my only criterion is that the watch has to appeal to me at an emotional le...  

Based on a combination of personal taste and reality, price-wise, I’d take the 36mm Datejust with black face for a dress watch due to the medium size and polished steel bracelet, the Hulk Sub for work/daily beater and the Air King for weekends and in betw... 

would be: GMTM II - 116719BLRO Daytona - 116500LN white dial Skydweller - 326934 black dial

for me 38-40 mm is also the sweet spot. In order of appreciation: 1) 116500 Daytona black or white is fine with me. Slight preference aesthetically for white. Also, unlike the black the white was not used on 116520. Prefer the ceramic to steel bezel. 2) B... 

.....nice choices. The problem for me with the various SD and Deepsea is the size...amongst other things.

1. Platinum day date 40 with black stick dial. The understated daddy for formal occasions, old age and to pass on to the next generation. Total Rolex classic, up there with a Porsche 911 and Coca Cola bottle (etc) and defining icons of the ages. 2. Sky Dw...

If you’re going for the classic iconic Rolex in No. 1, I’d recommend downsizing to 36 mm. 40 mm is less Carrera than Panomera. Also, if your “next generation” is girls (like mine), more likely to get an heir to actually wear the thing. 🙂

....i was just looking at the modern offerings and giving my personal taste. I will do a vintage version of this thread and that will play more to the classic theme.

.....when one does a Top 3 from the current offerings, the universe is defined within a relatively narrow range. But when one opens it up to all vintage, then not only is it much more unlimited, but also price becomes a big factor. My three moderns could ...

The Plat cosmo...... i can't get my head around it really. I think a part of that is just old school British. Never mix brown and blue....golden rule for an old school Brit. Miles let me borrow his for a little bit.....the heft is quite something. But its...

Personally I would go for a blue dial Mileguss. After that I am not sure.... Best Blomman

....The SD is simply too big. On the Subs, it was hard to exclude one from my choice. I think I am dominated too much by the charm of the vintage Subs and SDs....

14060m, 2007. 116710BLNR, 2013. 116500LN, 2017. 14060m were watches for every day. I consider them the best in comparison with 114060. Then appeared in the set 116710BLNR, and they became hours for travel. Well, under the blue suit, blue shirts, jeans ......  

I would go the Milgauss GV, I own Submariner LN, I own and the Daytona SS 116500LN ordered since one year with delivery promised before end of june. I would like a GMT with blue/ red bezel but the price tag is way over my budget Stay tuned

Ceramic Daytona white; 36mm DD Pl/glacier; WG blue Sub.

daydate 40mm YG silver roman dial, daydate 40mm platinum blue roman dial, submariner blue YG

116500LN white dial ceramic bezel Daytona. Close call between this and the black dial version but it adds an element of diversity to this trio and also think the white carries a slightly sportier look. But the black is as you say “strong”.... 126600 black...

I want a Pepsi. I’m in the waiting list, we will see. The AD told me October. My trio is now close to meet my expectations. I have the Green Milgauss, the black ceramic Daytona ( such a watch ) and wait for the steel Pepsi... I’m surprised to see among ma... 

......but i am in the camp of believing that many other GMTs are just as good.....

I always appreciate how the jubilee fits.
