The Clash of the Titans: Tudor Black Bay GMT / Rolex GMT MASTER Pepsi, Steel, both from 2018 collection.

 By: amanico : April 4th, 2018-08:14
Tudor Black Bay GMT: 41 mm case, in house movement, aluminium insert. Available on a riveted lookalike steel bracelet. Rolex GMT MASTER Pepsi, on Jubilé bracelet, steel, 40 mm case, ceramic bezel. I cannot imagine I would one day, type these words: Which ...

easy vote for me...

 By: keks : April 4th, 2018-08:24
Rolex wins by a mile and a half. that bezel is a killer and new jubilee bracelet is very nice looking as well. just not feeling the Tudor here for some reason. strikes me a touch flat in the look. but perhaps I need to see one in the real to form a real o...

+1

the lustrous look of Rolex wins out, especially versus it’s little sibling

I like the bezel of the Tudor

 By: crown comfort : April 4th, 2018-08:24
but would in the end go with the "original" as the hands are more consistent with the historic pieces and more to my liking, but I agree, tough call.

The hands are Rolex all day. All other attributes...

 By: MichaelC : April 4th, 2018-08:24
Case, bezel, crown, I choose Tudor. Dials are about a wash, the oversized Rolex date is a detail I have never enjoyed, but I do prefer the Rolex minute track pushed outward. I won't buy either, because I just don't care for the Tudor hands, and there is t...

I think it's deceiving to judge These only from the top View.

 By: nafetS : April 4th, 2018-08:27
I've Had a red black bay and Sold it after a few months. While I loved the look of it when looking directly from above, I soon realised that I didn't like at all its "bulky" Look from the Side. If the GMT has the Same "bulky" case, I Most definitly prefer...

Whilst the Tudor comes close to the photo in real life...

 By: shortys home : April 4th, 2018-08:28
... the Rolex looks totally different than the photoshopped catalogue picture. The real color hue of the GMT Master bezel is a massive turn off to me. So for that reason I‘d go for the Tudor without hesitation between those two. Cheers Henrik

I prefer the Tudor, more classic and vintage looking

 By: Maltie : April 4th, 2018-08:33
As mentionned before the color of the bezel on the Rolex are very different in real, going from pinkish to purple.

Rolex for me - I like the look with that bracelet.

 By: kev09 : April 4th, 2018-08:39
Whilst I like the Tudor hands normally this watch is a couple of snowflakes too far for me and although I don’t know the comparative thickness of the two watches I find the Black Bay looks too thick for me. Regards Kev.

Very different Watches

 By: Miranda : April 4th, 2018-08:47
the Rolex is more luxury living, it’s not a tool watch That’s if you can get one It’s true rival is the s/s Sky Dweller in many respects The Tudorwatch is pure tool watch, with Vintage heritage albeit from the big brother For me its hard to say, jeans and...

Feel the thickness

 By: Miranda : April 4th, 2018-11:23

Both are nice watches, the Tudor with a touch of Vintage, Rolex is timeless

 By: Walter2 : April 4th, 2018-09:07
The point is, for one Rolex GMT you get two Tudor GMT. So the question is, do you like two Tudor GMT, or one Rolex GMT. Tudor Black Bay are fantastic watches, but a Rolex GMT is Rolex. Best Walter

The Rolex for me

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-09:11
Based on the following factors: 1. The Tudor is slightly larger and a lot thicker than the Rolex making it for me, less wearable. 2. The Jubilee bracelet on the Rolex although not popular with everyone, is more comfortable than the Tudor. 3. The Rolex has...

Ah ok! I stand corrected

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-21:42
I should have just said thicker (something about the 14mm height of the Tudor bothers me! lol)

I thought so but did not want to argue with you Nico

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-22:23
as you are the expert on all things relating to watches. The Tudor is just too thick which is why the Tudor 58 is such a huge step forward for Tudor with its slimmer case and 2mm smaller size.

If they were available

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-22:37
I would buy the Tudor 58 and the Rolex Pepsi! The complete sports watch set!

The problem would be a obtaining a Pepsi dial at list within the next three years

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-23:00
I am not a Rolex man at all but for the first time ever, they have a chance to convert me to buy a Rolex but I guess they have such a huge clientele, they do not really need another convert!

I can only dream of one year Nico

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-23:13
In Malaysia, they are refusing to even put me on the list unless I buy another watch of a superior value. In the UK, they are not even taking names so I have no idea how I am ever going to get one even in 3 years time but I am more patient than most so I ...

reassuring words Nico

 By: sham1 : April 4th, 2018-23:42
Mind you the steel Daytona is still a tough one to get and always will be I guess.

Tudor GMT for me: to my taste, it design seems more "fresh" than the Rolex, despite its vintage look (and I really like the riveted steel bracelet!).

 By: massi. : April 4th, 2018-09:24
For myself the main no-go for Rolex is the bezel: too much wide and shiny with a quite fat font for numbers. Apart that, 2 great watches, one from a surprising brand, the other... less surprising. Best, massi

Rolex for me. No contest

 By: descartes1 : April 4th, 2018-09:59
I'm not a huge fan of the faux vintage genre. Tribute piece, if done faithfully, is sometimes another story.

Tudor for me

 By: jml_watches : April 4th, 2018-10:07
Hi Prefer the more subdued bezel of Tudor & as I'm not a fan of bracelets again that is another plus. Still not wholly enthusiastic about crown tube on the Tudor, prefer the crown guards of the Rolex. On balance it's still the Tudor though Cheers JML

Tudor for me

 By: stevenokes : April 4th, 2018-10:13
Prefer the Rolex hands but the whole watch has become too bling for me especially with the jubilee strap. Tudor case a bit thick. Looking forward to seeing the Tudor 58 in the flesh with the slimmer case.

I take the Rolex

 By: Baron - Mr Red : April 4th, 2018-10:18
When Tudor are trying to be Tudor, I think it works really well. But when Tudor are trying to be Rolex, it fails. Like the old saying...when Lion and Lamb go for dinner, only one brings the mint sauce.

8 - 11 for Rolex. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 4th, 2018-11:24

The Tudor first for me followed closely behind by the Rolex GMT Ceramic BLRO

 By: reintitan : April 4th, 2018-10:35
If the competition was between the Tudor and the earlier versions of the Rolex Ceramic GMT, then the Tudor would win by a landslide.

9 - 11 for Rolex. [nt]

sorry but can't choose .. BOTH

10 - 13 for Rolex. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 4th, 2018-11:25

If Tudor increased the price by 3x and make it application piece, waiting list, limited quantities, then I chose Tudor :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 4th, 2018-11:34
If not, Rolex for me. Their quality is King. Rgds Raymond

My vote is counts -1 for both: the colours, the colours ...

By: COUNT DE MONET : April 4th, 2018-11:37
The Rolex is not really red and the Tudor is not really blue. But maybe in metal they look better?

Tudor

 By: als1678 : April 4th, 2018-11:38
If the Rolex actually looked like the picture that you posted in real life, it would have been the winner by a mile. But as others have mentioned the bezel is actually purplish and dull, way less appealing than the old aluminum versions (or Tudor's).

Tudor I vote [nt]

 By: Euroasianstar : April 4th, 2018-12:07

Easy: I have Rolex ceramic GMT

 By: dr.kol : April 4th, 2018-12:25
and Tudor is on order. When possible, I'll order also the new Rolex because of the great new movement. Best, Kari

Rolex by quite a bit...

 By: paxtaru : April 4th, 2018-12:29
The Rolex watch is simply made better. The color of the bezel on the Tudor seemed a bit dull to me, while the Rolex one is pretty much the same as the current GMT. Not sure why people say the color in life is different? Maybe because of the weird lighting...

14 - 17 for Rolex. [nt]

Tudor for me ! because

 By: Ron_W : April 4th, 2018-13:04
- Tudor has a slimmer bezel with thin font which i prefer and it is less shiny - dont like a cyclops - Tudor also looks good on leather strap ! that ceramic bezel will not match a leather strap i think. - Tudor makes now what Rolex used to make, a no fril...

Here's a question...

 By: ik2000 : April 4th, 2018-14:47
If both said Rolex, what would the results be : ) !!! I go for Tudor. I haven't seen the dimensions in persons, but in pictures, I definitely prefer it.

rolex for me..

prob will go with a leather strap to tone down the bling..but I am a sucker for ceramic bezels...

Could you make bracelet vs bracelet and leather strap vs leather strap

 By: Gelato Monster : April 4th, 2018-17:34
just to be more easy to look and compare

I cannot do better than that...

TUDOR

 By: Gelato Monster : April 5th, 2018-02:23
Tudor is more fine and elegant power. Rolex is macho luxo

Most welcome

 By: Gelato Monster : April 5th, 2018-03:00
I hope Tudor color is accurate

Tudor bezel colors/font are warmer, more elegant and subdued. Tudor hour and minute hands as well as indices are more svelte and hour hand is better length...

 By: remarque : April 4th, 2018-19:05
I have never liked the Rolex maxi-cases. So the Rolex case thickness, assuming same as other GMT Master II is 12.4mm, as compared to Tudor BB GMT 14.3. The 2mm thinner case is the only aspect of the Rolex which is preferable. Both movements are superb wit...

I will take both [nt]

I've never liked the very busy ceramic GMT bezel

 By: 41northpole : April 5th, 2018-13:13
The numerals are too big on all variants. The Tudor is my best of the two because it is more restrained in style and delivery, less polishing, cleaner bezel and no lump over the date Tim

yeayyy [nt]

 By: Gelato Monster : April 5th, 2018-20:57

Would love to choose a favorite, but i can't.

 By: VMM : April 6th, 2018-02:04
I like both watches, but I would buy none. I'll start with the Tudor: Too thick, a bit on the large size for me, and I'm not sure about the hands. Let's wait to see it live. As for the Rolex: Same issue as with all the models with those too wide lugs, and...

Gracias, Vicente. Thinner, and a tad smaller, it would be better for the GMT Tudor. For the Rolex same size but lugs ala... Tudor GMT, and it would be perfect. ;)

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-03:01
I will start with the Tudor Black Bay GMT, that's the onde which convinces me the most. Then study the Rolex GMT MASTER a bit more... Un abrazo, Amigo. Nicolas

They don't play the same league... the Rolex without any doubt.

 By: foversta : April 6th, 2018-13:46
The perceived and actual quality, the movement features, the finishes... but they don't have the same price... I will come back to these watches with a different angle. Fx

Rolex SS BLRO for me one of theist release in years...

 By: SteelerFan1965 : April 7th, 2018-02:26
Can't wait til it is on my wrist. The jubilee was a fantastic touch and brings me back to my 16750 days. So for me the new Rolex is a winner all the way around!

the tudor without a doubt but...

 By: futoshita : April 7th, 2018-05:10
I would love it even more with a small rose and no snowflake hands

Good points. Me too. 21 - 23 for Rolex. [nt]

I would choose the Rolex GMT

 By: Mr.Gatsby : April 7th, 2018-10:59
Even though the Tudor GMT has got very valid merits. On the Tudor, the GMT concept and the design consistency of the GMT and second hands against hour and minute hands are a plus for me. Even though it was visually odd at first, I would tend to think an a...
