Welcome again, and thanks for your nicely written introduction!
Personally, I began collecting watches 15 years ago, more or less when I landed my first (temporary, postdoctoral) job after finishing the PhD. Especially at the beginning, both for interest and economic reasons, I focused mainly on a few Rolexes (and Panerais, and a JLC), before one day it just came naturally to purchase my first Patek... It was May of 2008, hence roughly three years into my watch journey.
Even though I have bought a few more Rolexes after that, that first simple Patek (a Calatrava 5119R) just left no doubt in my mind that Patek was going to be my favorite brand. Now I also try to get Pateks that are a bit more "special", in particular the so-called 'rare handcrafts' (when Patek kindly decides to give me one, since I never bought second-hand and these pieces are not easy to get! 
) Frankly, I'm always excited to see what the future brings, and this hobby makes no exception!

I have a Kermit and it's definitely one of the Rolexes I have worn the most during the past ten years or so, on a variety of work or social situations.
I sincerely look forward to seeing how your personal "Patek journey" will evolve, since similarly to what happened to me, your first Patek seems to have triggered an even greater interest in this special brand! ;-)

i've a soft corner for 5070G & 5110P...
then ....current catalog is difficult for me to choose...just doesn't resonate with me.
5070G is a piece of beauty.
My issue with the world time however, is that it is not legible at all for me. And I genuinely use the watch for time keeping (vs. my iPhone).

And you wil not be in stealth mode. Personally i like the modern Ulysse Nardin watches. When i see a lot of watches in a window, i see a flower field. Breitlings next to each other and that wing logo really beautiful.

I have both 5146 and 5205
I dont think one is nicer than the other. Just different looks. The 5146 has been around alot longer so resale on the market is less than the 5205. Both beautiful. I found them both too small for me. I prefer a real 40mm to 42mm.

My issue with the world timer is the legibility, especially that I want to keep the attitude of using the watches, not just keep them as trophy pieces. Though I should try it on before judging.
