1. Sub - legend 2. 5146 - fantastically undervalued 3. 5040 PC
Welcome, WH!
I'm a little older than you (40s) and think you have a really epic collection.
1. The Submariner is a legend for a reason. I remember seeing it as a teenager in the 80s and being enthralled by its clarity of design, telling my mother "if I only had this watch for the rest of my life, I would be happy with this one." I still feel the same.
2. As for the 5146, I believe it is the most undervalued complicated Patek. It is practical, very legible and, as you said, is a very nice balance of classic and modern. It doesn't hurt that Patek invented the complication either. You own a truly great watch.
3. I was very fortunate to enter the Patek world with a 5040J perpetual calendar with Breguet numerals and display back. It was my first "serious" (complicated and expensive) watch beyond a "simple" yet (to me) beautiful Stowa single register chronograph. But if I didn't own the 5040, I would be wearing the exact version of the 5146 that's on your wrist.
Best wishes
