Horological Meandering: Call me pompous then lol

I tend to dress rather casually and like wearing the JLC (and my other watches) with jeans and nice simple shirt. But yeah, it's hard to get a more opulent, or "pompous" as you say, look in a traditional case than with these kinds of lugs. I think the Patek 2431 takes the concept of flared lugs from

And it contrasts a bit with the clean minimalistic dial (for a chronograph, at least). No tachymeter, no pulsometer. Just a big 12, a simple signature, and clean registers.

Fewer people wear suits at work, lots more dress casual, etc. In contrast, these watches were manufactured during a time when formal elegance was more common and appreciated. Times change.
