Good morning everyone, I'm new to the forum, and following FabR's advice, I thought it would be nice to introduce myself. I have been frequenting these forums as a reader and have learnt a great deal from the mature and knowledgeable discussions over here...

My issue with the world time however, is that it is not legible at all for me. And I genuinely use the watch for time keeping (vs. my iPhone).

How i think about a Rolex submariner? I like the hulk. Patek certainly made great watches, but i like VC also and VC is great. Older too. A huge watch collection is not my goal, but a collection where i am proud of. On my work i wear my Tissot. Affordable...

And you wil not be in stealth mode. Personally i like the modern Ulysse Nardin watches. When i see a lot of watches in a window, i see a flower field. Breitlings next to each other and that wing logo really beautiful.

What a nice collection you all ready have. The PP is SOOO nice. Regarding the Sub, I can understand your thoughts reg. the vibe suth a watch may emit, but hey,- wear what you like, and let your personality do the walking. As mentioned, the Sub is historic... 

I dont think one is nicer than the other. Just different looks. The 5146 has been around alot longer so resale on the market is less than the 5205. Both beautiful. I found them both too small for me. I prefer a real 40mm to 42mm.

Because I agree with you, they both look quite different, and definitely address to separate market needs. if I were to go for a 5205, I would then go for a 5205G, because since the design is overall modern, then I prefer to pair it with modern colour pal...

PP did an excellent job with this restate. removing the crown guard, and adding the caseback cover so you can enjoy looking at your movement was a great move. This 5227 was on my short list because of its classic look, yet the benefit of having the date. ... 

You can dress it better up and down, too.

My first patek was an AC as you but the 5035J which I bought for my self as a graduation present when I got my MBA. After that I been hooked so be careful expensive hobby 😂👍

My issue with the world timer is the legibility, especially that I want to keep the attitude of using the watches, not just keep them as trophy pieces. Though I should try it on before judging.

Is a Rolex Submariner crude? Well, that's an opinion and I respect anybody's opinion as long as they can back it up with their own facts. But I wonder what kind of person would think that a Rolex Submariner is crude? Might possibly be a very snooty watch ...
