Patek Philippe

We got very close to getting a full report on this watch from a well respected watch collector a few months back but it never happened so I am interested in hearing what you guys think of this watch. Even if you dont own one what do you think of this some...  

but it's not my favorite. It is a nice watch but I'm not a big fan of the bulls-eye, I prefer 2 subdials instead of one. And I would love to see the numers and hands of the chrono in another color (black and beige , NOT red and blue) So, it's not high on ... 

If I had the cash I would go for the Datograph or the PP 5070 over the 5960.

I tried on both watches and confirmed my opinions formed from pictures. I think the "bulls-eye" chrono harmonizes with the 5980 Nautilus case and looks very good. So good, in fact, that I now own one! I had just the opposite reaction to the 5960. It has a... 

Yet!!! IMHO, it is the essence of modern Patek. Innovative, understated (in plat), and quite practical in terms of complications. A chronograph that can actually be used in real life! Most events I want to time don't stop at 30mins.

The 5960's dial has too many things hapening at once. The glass as with many Pateks is in serious need of A/R coating. The photos you have posted bare this out nicely. There are several chronographs I would prefer over the 5960...Such as the 1815 chronogr...

Hi, Send me one and I'll do a report! This piece is among my top four choices with the 5146G slate dial, the 5098R, the 6000G! I keep the fifth place for the next manual wind chrono. Cheers Dje

I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I did from the first moment I set eyes on it but after owning one and wearing it often I simply love it..... In fact I would even go as far to say that if it were to house a Minute Repeater I would not need to own another watch......

They both share the same base, the Cal 28 - 520, but one has the Annual Calendar ( 5960 P ) ,while the other has a date. Best, Nicolas

AFAIK, the 5980 and the 5960 have been released the same year: 2006. Am I wrong? Best, Nicolas

Hi, They were both presented in 2006, but none of them at Basel. The 5960 in January, and the 5980 at the end of the year of the Nautilus 30th anniversary! By the way the 2006/2007 catalog shows the 5960 but there is no Nautilus presented at all! Cheers D...
