Patek Philippe

Hi, I wasn't really disappointed but

I am a bit surprised that Patek Philippe intends to pass the coming difficult times mostly by just polishing the old collection. I have been waiting for long a replacement for 215 movement (even it's a good one) as well as 240.

I agree with you: the new 5140P is pure elegance. If I would not have 5550P, I would get it. Now these two are too similar and 5550P is a bit more in all respects. I somehow also expected 5227P and either 5131P or 5170P. Finally, I hoped to see something in the line of 5960/1A.

The new collection contained fine watches but I would question are those fine enough to keep up the sales when the overall market is shrinking. Think for example about VC's new Overseas collection: they brought new in-house movements and a clever bracelet/strap changing system. Vacheron tries to offer something more and something really new. Perhaps the new Nautilus collection will improve the situation.

The new Aquanaut 5164R is very attractive. However, before deciding about buying it, I need to look carefully at the coming Nautilus collection.

Best, Kari
