Excellent trip report
makes good read for those of us less fortunate in not being able to attend.
Reading your report I sense your disappointment in white metal novelties and a general softening towards colored metals. I used to be a white metal only person myself. I can still not digest the 5327 as I find it a bit unbalanced, but the gray 5140P however I think is pure elegance. Would look great along with a well tailored suit. With regards to the 5396G with Breguet numerals being similar to the Tiffany version I think I would not be concerned as the Tiffany version is infinitely much more elegant. The hands is what make the difference in my opinion, and the black dial is just superb.
In the last few years I have started to appreciate colored metal watches quite a bit. Part of the reason is lifestyle related but I suppose I am also becoming less self-conscious. From your pictures I find the 5170R with black dial and 5164R truly spectacular. If you are thinking of moving to a sunny hot and humid place I believe you would appreciate the 5164R. I believe you have a 5167A which is superb but the 5164R is just more, and the complication is great. Personally I wear a 5980R on a rubber strap for those times, works really well… in the pool and in the ocean, as I like you, believe these things are meant to be worn.
In summary, I am also lightly disappointed in this year's offerings, but at the same time my wallet is loving it. I have no doubts the Nautilus offerings will provide for some excitement later this year!
Thanks for your post and hope you had a great time there! Looking forward to reading more about your coming acquisitions.
