Patek Philippe

Generally true, an exception here and there

The cushion case 5940 is really beautiful and in keeping w Patek's fine past. However, it is essentially 'lifted' from previous watches and put into a cushion case...
I generally and very sadly agree that Thierry is misguided and lacks the magical taste his forebears had... I know he has a reputation for being a nice and accessible man...
I do not mean this as a personal attack, but an observation...
The new 5960 1/a reeks of the Thierry era... either you love the annual cal layout or you don't I guess.

I like it in some iterations, such as the blue dial 5960P...

But enough already. Nice trick... next???

Patek is being slowly diluted, made more 'accessible' perhaps like Thierry who may wish to be more well-liked and casual than his forbears...

Whatever the case, my former all consuming love for Patek has waned to an almost non-existent degree...

And 50K for that 5960 1/ a? Come on. Beyond ludicrous. This is a movement produced in huge numbers (relative to Patek's past) and not at all even remotely rare...

Eh... since you asked!
