Hopefully,like Manchester United, this period of bad form will pass. I just don't want to be sitting around thinking about the good old days when United won the treble and tons of trophies and Patek made beautiful watches.

Its almost impossible to improve on the original designs. Something i tried on at christies.......perfection ...  

No question arises... 'how do I read this weird chronograph?' You look at it and instantly recognize the design. It truly makes you wonder why anything, other than technology, has been changed. yes that might be 'boring' ... But look at Rolex--essentially...

The saying goes "form is temporary, class is permanent" - let's cut the Sterns some slack! I am sure the 175th pieces will be epic!

Almost forgot to mention .... great watch!! Built when things were the way they used to be, superlative.

The cushion case 5940 is really beautiful and in keeping w Patek's fine past. However, it is essentially 'lifted' from previous watches and put into a cushion case... I generally and very sadly agree that Thierry is misguided and lacks the magical taste h...  

I wouldn't attribute the change to Thierry. There are many things that are still done without his actual personal involvement. The whole design selection is done by committee. I'd say the designers have run out of their best design ideas and are now comin... 

Some of the newer pieces are much better watches compared to their predisessor. For example the 5204 and 5270 are much better design and movements. Now that the cosmetics are coming around on the newest releases there is hope. The stuff in the middle is t... 

the 5170G which not sports or GC. I also like the 5124J or G.

I can't help but agree, It's sad, but PP are clearly losing their magic touch and continue to get more commercial with every passing day. The watches they make today aren't a patch on what they did in the golden era of about 1940-1960. Too much bling, and...
