Patek Philippe

Dear all; I have the opportunity to acquire a 5131G and / or 5575G from a fellow collector and a good friend; both pieces are new and he is the original owner having bought them directly from an AD. Unfortunately I can only buy one of these at the current... 

Pricing aside, my comments are below and hope they are helpful in your decision: 1. 5131 enamel dial is more artistic (much more manually work involved) and more attention-grabbing 2. IMO 5575 can be worn in more occasions because the dial is more subdue ... 

...5131. I think the case is different from the 5575 and somehow it seems larger in diameter if I'm not wrong. Also the enamel dial is a big thing when it's from Patek. Both 5131 and 5575 are special .. so in the end depends which one speaks to you more a... 

Both are nice but IMHO the 5131 is a little bit more special

I would probably take 5575 because of the fantastic case and hands. In the end 5531 is "just" a 5130 with special dial. Best, Kari

I have the 5575G which is the pride and joy of my small collection and am waiting for the 5131R. The 5575G(39.8mm) was produced in 1300 pieces and I am pretty sure that the discontinued 5131G (39.5mm) was produced in the hundreds at most. That itself will... 

Please provide a source for this information. I have posted a list of references that will be discontinued in Dec 2015 and Mark in Paris decided the list was NOT credible and thus did not allow the list to be seen by forum members. If this indeed is the c... 

The source is my authorised dealer, Berrys in the United Kingdom. I was sent the entire list last week and it is a very long list which includes watches like the 5140 and 5170 (white dial).

I don't believe in hearsay...but if there are information out there that is credible, I believe it should be posted and let forum members decide how to deal with it. By not allowing "The List" to be seen simply because "your source" deemed it not official... 

Discussing about what is possible is one thing. People already discuss about the "possible" discontinuation of the 5130 or 5140 and this is perfectly ok as they are talking about something that may be right or may not. Adding what seems to be an official ...

First, we are not here aware of the "secrets" but the discontinuation is official on the morning Baselworld starts: this is where the embargo date is fixed and when the official Patek Philippe website is updated with the collections. Hence, when a referen...

5575 in just another metal only, then 1750 Patek 5575 fans + other 175th anniversary collectors would be seriously disappointed and angry! Hope this will not be the case.

The design is flawless and the rarity and beauty of the dial is amazing. For me it is a clear winner between the two. Looking forward to finding out your choice! Alex

I won't take the numbers into account as they remain low and because I would prefer asking myself which one I would like most and hence we get most pelasure from the wearing experience. In this case I would choose the 5131G because of the artistic and cra...

and agree with many of the points here. Both are very special. If I were forced to keep just one it would be the 5131G. The enamel dial is great and it is a bit more legible. However, the lugs and the hands on the 5575 are more attractive to me. In the en...  

They are so special it pushes me away from the standard 5130 as I wonder if I would ever be happy (but only pushed toward the 5110

Both are great but 5575 is more versatile and I think easier on the eyes too. Love it but don't have it! One thing though, I don't think it is as easy to read the time on 5575.

For the great advice and really insightful comments; I see that some lucky collectors own both the pieces, which would have been ideal!! I am jealous Anyway, at this time I am leaning towards getting the 5131G; although the asking price is about 20% highe... 

I would maybe suggest to pay a visit to your Patek AD if you have one nearby and ask them what they think. They can tell you it needs servicing as they can tell you it can wait another X years. You can also wear it and wait until it doesn't work accuratel... 

If you feel it is keeping good time ie within -3 +2 seconds per day, then, that's fine but you should definitely get a service done if it is not keeping good time. Congratulations on you imminent purchase!

I have both watches. 5131G is always my favorite. beautiful watch.

Buy what you like is important. I have both watch, 5131 is more attractive if you like hand craft watch. 5575 is only anniversary version and nice dial but you cannot compare it 5131 in term of craftsmanship. Of course you will not get wrong to take any o... 

I think that the 5131G is my choice. Over time, the anniversary piece will be easier to find, due to the sheer number of pieces made, whereas the 5131G will remain a tight supply.

I know the run is 1300 but wondered how long this sort of volume takes to produce?

Are they numbered and sold sequentially?

FYI, all the ADs I spoke to told me that they all received their allocations given that Patek produces around 50,000 watches a year, the total number of the 175th anniversary references is a low production number. Furthermore, it has been over a year sinc... 

I was collecting my long awaited 5131 and I still can\'t quite believe it has arrived. Anyway, on Monday (one working day later) I got a call from the same AD to say I had just been allocated a 5575G! I had put my name down for a 5575G when the 5131 was l... 

Received an unexpected call from my AD in Apr 2016 for being allocated a 5575G and I gladly brought it home. Seems that not all 5575G are sold out. Is it possible that they are being produced and delivered in phases?
