Let me revert

For some reason I can't really explain to myself, I've never owned an Omega. This could be the model that gives me the urge to get one. Unless, of course, they are using the 321 caliber as an excuse to sell it at twice the price of the regular Speedmaster... 

Indications are that it will be easily double the price of a moonwatch with sapphire ... 🙁

...it will be a pass, then. At that price, I can think of a number of watches I would own before I got a Speedmaster.

A caliber 321 or caliber 3861 master chronometer? Tough decision for me. The 3861 has co-axial on the robust caliber 1861 which is proven bulletproof. The 321 has the old, nostalgic charm, but I guess they are less reliable than 1861 (correct me if i'm wr... 

Perhaps starting with 321 for nostalgia and reissues and 3861 for modern ones ? Best regards

But always hesitate because of the thickness of caliber 3330 Dubois Depraz module. And I hope they reduce the diameter to be 39-40 mm. And retain the current bracelet (which is very smooth and comfortable)

I don't see any advantages of 321 in terms of technology nor reliability over the caliber 1861, let alone the 3861, which at least will have more magnetic resistance and stability rate compared to the 1861. Another thing which is subjective, is that I pre...

Need to see this one in the flesh to confirm if I’m going to buy one. But I have to say this Speedy is The One. The Ed White is really iconic in the entire lineage in my humble opinion due to the baton hands and smaller case (39 i/o of 42). I was going to...

Love the restraint of a simple "speedmaster" on the back. Would prefer a brushed surface along the top of the lugs, but can't deny the overall beauty of this one.

Not sure I like the gold plating on movement either. I am sure it will sell like hot cakes, or has the potential. Speed master bubble next??? I like the new 300 great white though.

I already have 2 vintage Ed Whites but due to lack of parts for servicing and trying to replace it if anything happens, I rarely wear it. This is the reason I prefer modern watches to vintage models, regardless of brand or model. With this modern re-editi...

With the Bond 25, this Ed White 321 and the Apollo 13 50th anniversary. Some say this will be Omega’s answer to Rolex Daytona, hmmm....

I actually have more than a dozen Daytonas ranging from vintage (6239, 6263, 6265), Zeniths (16520), modern (116520), and ceramics (116500LN) and again there is NO comparison for me. This modern 321 trumps them all for rarity, history, quality, looks, etc... 

And like I stated prior, I would much prefer to wear a MODERN re-edition with modern technology and materials which could be serviced without issues. So I guess having BOTH the vintage and modern references would be the clear answer 😉😁

If Daytona’s are not as desirable, may I know why you collect this many? Don’t get me wrong, that’s an awesome list and congrats as they are all very sort after 👍🏻

The long answer is more complicated and I could discuss it with you in private if you like as I do not know if it is appropriate to do so here 🤷‍♂️ I would like to make one correction. I never said that the Daytona was less collectible than a Speedmaster.... 

so like yourself, I also own both Rolex and Omega but are all moderns. It'll be nice to discuss your experience in private PM, whenever you have time.

people seem to forget that the modern Rolex phenomenon (shortage) started around 2015 and the desire to have a modern Daytona started with the Zenith-based Daytonas. Before that, dealers were literally GIVING AWAY 4 digit Daytonas if you bought a Day Date... 

The other smaller Speedmaster (38.5mm ?) look chunky. Again, I also wonder about Omega vs Rolex. Then was then, now is now, so to speak. Let’s sit back comfortably and watch history unfold. Hey, cheers. 👍👍

Initially I thought it had the makings of being Omega's version of the Daytona. Then I realized it did not. There is a single mindedness to the Daytona catalog that is absent in the Speedmaster. There is no lower priced version of the Daytona with a less ...

I have a question for the connoisseurs - were 321 "adjusted?" I don't see a stamp saying unadjusted like on some of the inexpensive versions of the 2310 but i don't see adjustment indications either? thanks I am really excited to see this watch!

I had heard that Omega would only use the 321 for gold watches....but that re-issue is a brilliant idea !
