You only see the value if you understand that this movement is produced exclusively for this watch in low volumes.

A Reverso is defenetely on my radar (For a long time now), but the price increase - twice this year - makes it harder. Enjoy!

She wants to leave her stamp on JLC - and she wants to be forever known as the CEO who started taking JLC drastically upmarket? She probably has some research studies from management consultant firms and marketing firms that tell her this: "customers don'... 

I'm mad that VW stock has fallen so much. It doesn't make sense.

But let's hope that this CEO is also going to raise not only prices, but also quality as well. At the end of the day, JLC needs to reflect the right values. If they're going to charge as much as Vacheron Constantin, then they need to have the same quality... 

right now it justs looks like greed, because there has been an increase in price of about 40% in a little over a year without any real changes in quality

I'm generally quick to complain, but I also try to be careful and not be too quick to judge. I'm going to try to give this CEO the benefit of the doubt and let her prove herself to both the business community and the watch collector community.

Although it marginalizes some collectors, so isn’t all good universally, there is an interesting positive externality that can occur (but does not necessarily occur) when primary price increases are sustained successfully… a buoying of the secondary marke... 

Reminds me Chanel’s steep and multiple price raises coupled with lower production. I understand they want to be at level of Hermes, so we’ll see.

Chanel saw an opportunity to raise prices, and they exercised that opportunity. Notice the steepest price increases were for their hand bags. These didn't have any major production constraint - the workers in the factory had to be spaced further apart in ... 

Then it will be interesting to see how consumers ultimately will react to JLC’s strategy over the long term.

But the watch industry right now is telling consumers - ALL THOSE CONSUMERS WHO WAIT TO BUY OUR PRODUCT WILL HAVE REGRETS! Because either the watch will be sold out, or they'll have to pay more than retail to get one! The motto all watch companies want th... 

The time only is already wonderful! And pure in design.

Both have increased in prices too though.

The blue one used to sit at airport duty free stores, strap all faded from the bright lights. Now, they're snatched up! At least they're snatched up by people who really like the watch - not speculators whom are just buying Rolexes to flip.

I only regret not buying two years ago when I tried one on. "Regrets - I´ve had a few". Enjoy!

I already have a Reverso and I like it a lot! So at least I'm not completely without a Reverso.

on a single watch, I'd say that in order to afford this beauty for 27K, one should have at least 500K in the bank account. I don't think the Tribute Chrono will be sold in large numbers, and it'll become quite exclusive and collectible in the decades to c...

given it is steel with such an impressive (but not perfect) skeleton chrono as well as a beautiful front dial. It is so tempting, but like many other brands, the ongoing price hikes make it difficult.

The story around the 1996 version - that I know of - is of the movement being developed from scratch. I would love to have more detail added. I find the story atound the entire series very interesting. Unless you are referring the new, 2023 version. Then ... 

I think it the transmission of the minute information from the seconds hand to the retrograde counter that was quite ambitiousy done in the original and now has been simplified a bit?

It is just too big for me. I also feel it is a poor remake of the original, personally. I don't care for the direction Rénier is taking the brand and for me JLC becomes less appealing each year.

I did not order one. I ordered the Chopard. The pricing on this one is VERY EXPENSIVE for a watch at this level. I would've expected this watch to be around the similar price of a Breguet XXI, which is around 15K Euro. I would expect the JLC to be slightl... 

The Chopard Alpine Eagle at around 22,000 Euros I'd say is a very fair price. You're looking at a watch that has a higher level movement than the 15202 in the AP and the 5711/1A. Both of these retail for much more than the Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS with th... 

Whereas the Royal Oak and the Nautilus are superior to the Alpine Eagle since they are original concepts. The Alpine Eagle not being a true original concept - as it is a whole new thing with a slight resemblance to the Chopard St. Moritz line of watches f... 

Chopard had two dials that could be considered "salmon" the 1860 classic style watch on a leather strap and the Alpine Eagle XPS with the LUC movement. ...  

I wanted to order both, but thought I better control myself and order just one.

Would love to have the best of both worlds too but current circumstances only allow one for me..

I chose the Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS. Mainly because I did verbally say many times to many Chopard executives (including Herr Scheufele) that I would buy an Alpine Eagle if they put in the 1.96 LUC movement and made it thinner. I also really like this bra...  

I have always wanted an AE but the date window at 4 always bothers me. Therefore when this combination of a stunning pink dial, LUC 1.96 movement and thinner case comes along, I know this is the one I have been waiting for.
