But the watch industry right now is telling consumers - ALL THOSE CONSUMERS WHO WAIT TO BUY OUR PRODUCT WILL HAVE REGRETS! Because either the watch will be sold out, or they'll have to pay more than retail to get one! The motto all watch companies want the consumer to realize is "there's no time like the present."
And, as a moderator here and as a watch expert and journalist worldwide, I every week I hear, "I wished I had bought that Nautilus or Royal Oak back in the day when they were available." And I asked, "why didn't you?" And the answer is always, "I didn't know that it'd go up that much (which really means I didn't want to spend the money back then)." And then I ask, "could you have afforded it a few years ago?" The answer is always "yes." And then I say, "it's apparent to me that you didn't want it enough back then, but you want it desperately now probably because of the value increase, ask yourself and be honest, would you still want the watch desperately today if the watch was still readily available? Probably not right? You'd probably still think you had all the time in the world right?" And they say, "Well...." And the instant they say something that's not with 100% certainty, you know... You know they want it because of the hype. Not because of the watch itself.
Now, the industry is telling you to buy buy buy! Buy indiscriminately! The industry is programming us to BUY NOW or BE SORRY LATER! FEAR OF MISSING OUT! And we as consumers have to resist that! As there will eventually be a downturn, a slow down in the economy...
