Totally agree!

Totally agree with everything you said!  And yes!  Pen loaning is a big risk if your friend drops it!  Your pen stand looks magnificent all shined up!

Mechanical pencils?  Two words...  Rotring 600.  Full stop.  No better mechanical pencil in the "drafting" style than that one.  Just a magnificent pencil.  I'm not an architect nor a person who has to use a pencil for work so I'm not an expert about mechanical pencils as much.  But the Rotring 600 is the favorite pencil I've tried after playing around with a wide variety of pencils starting since I was in school.  The Rotring 600 can be a little heavy, as it is brass bodied.  For longer writing, I would use a plastic Staedtler 925.  But that Rotring 600 always gave me a delight when I used it.

Yes!  Big nibs are super important and the biggest differentiator of quality amongst fountain pens!  The nib also acts as a bit of a shock absorber, so a larger nib does equate to more comfortable writing.

For someone who doesn't use a lot of fountain pens, you've got quite a few inked!  Four pens inked simultaneously!  That's a lot of pens!  That Visconti looks amazing!  Huge nib too!
