Artisanal Independent Watchmaking, rather than marketed brands...
A watchmaker, who designs and knows how to make a watch, whether or not they make all parts or farm out certain aspects to their specialists is fine as long as it's disclosed. It's not an easy path to take and requires blood, sweat & tears. An engineering bent together with an aesthetic taste to create a watch that will appeal to buyers, is very rare.
Stiff competition will be out there depending upon what type of product you are coming up with.
Are you a watchmaker?
Cheers,
Tim
