Not many members get their first post listed as an Editor’s Pick (you can see this on the FRONT PAGE) so congratulations and welcome!
It would have been interesting to see the response to the same question posted on TZ, but your story indicates that you are persona non grata. Personally the differences between the various horological fora don’t mean much to me. Some may think we are in competition with one another, but I don’t see it that way. I strongly believe that PuristS are born, not created; true PuristS gravitate to this site and they stay here. It’s like home. HoMe?!
As others have said, hang around, ask questions, give your opinions and reactions to the watches, share your interests and passions and you will quickly know if the ‘fit’ is right for you. There is also a "Forum Search" function to go back through the last 10 years of posts; just think of a topic and go 'tripping'!

You should probably experience the sites for yourself...
...to see what you like about each of them. There are some brand forums that are found on both sites, and some community members who frequent both. The key is to figure out which works for you -- maybe they both will. Welcome here! Cheers, Daos

Heavy handed moderators and owners

Another big difference between TZ and PuristS
Posts here don't get deleted without warning or explanation. They are always left up with a moderator's comment as to why they were either edited or locked. I also must say that none of these are ever done on the basis of the moderator's personal opinion....
Another small, but often significant difference
You can edit your posts here (albeit for a short time) There is an edit your post button on TZ, but clicking it (even seconds after posting) returns with "you cannot edit post". Annoys me to no end ;-) Never figured out why they left the button in place.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so sorry to hear that you can no longer participate on your favorite watch forum. I can understand the whole wanting an identity on the site thing. When I first joined, I wasn't really thinking and just used my name.....

May I also agree with Daos............
I first met Howard on a completely different site and have always found him to be a true gent. I enjoy both sites and have learnt a great deal from both. But if I was to be asked "which site do I start looking at first" then my answer would be "THIS ONE"

As we often do when asking questions about comparing watches from different brands, I suggest asking the same question on tz in order to get as well rounded and answer as possible.
