Horological Meandering

Tough question......

.......but there are many possible answers.

When I was 21, fresh out of university, i started working professionally and got quickly sucked into champagne bars after work with the guys. I worked hard when at work, but I really loved playing hard after work. Then, one of my colleagues who never joined the champagne bar parties told me that he thought i was being foolish and that I was wasting my money. I had no savings as my salary was not high and i was spending what was available on the high life. To be blunt...i was having a fantastic time. I was so happy. My colleague was not happy....but he was saving what little was left of his salary after paying rent etc. At the end of my first year, I had nothing in the bank as savings. My colleague had managed to save £2000....but he had had a miserable year. He hadn't joined in with the graduates and was not enjoying his work......

....it came to bonus review. They gave me £10,000 and a 50% pay increase. Yeahhh.

....my colleague got £2000 bonus and a 20% pay increase. He left the firm.

Carpe diem........or as Lewis Caroll nearly said....Jam today......Jam tomorrow.
