So, no watch is complete without a movement.
Citizen, is in the list, Miyota.
My Bulova on my wrist, have a Miyota! Actually it is a Citizen watch, but Bulova printed on the dial!
It is nimble quality, fond shine, clear rotor, silky gears, a watch to kiss.
Baume and Mercier gets its turners from ETA, Sellita, and of course their own mighty Baumatic in house 5 days power reserve from the Val Fleurier atelier. IWC get them also for their pilot Mark XX Spitfire.
My favorite movement as i oversee my complete watch collection?
Eni mini mutti AS Schild 11.30 / Accutron 214.
Strong ones Baumatic / Sellita 200 series.

Personally, I was happy that my Panerai was a Unitas 6497.
It was the main reason I purchased my 177 in 2008. It had the same robust construction as my Colibri pocket watch from 1979. The Patek 5070 series was strong because of its core movement. Richemont or Swatch should leverage their movements across brands.

Cartier doesn't make movements, they use Valfleurier movements
IWC and Baume's "in-house" movements are also mainly Valfleurier movements.
As long as the 'ask' is commiserate with the quality / watchmaker hours / service / etc.
Of course asking $35k (in 2024 Dollars / Euro) for a stainless steel timepiece means it had better have lots of reasons to be that expensive. This is where smart and educated consumers know what to avoid (hype).
