That' s the problem. I love travels, sea, countryside and mountains. I need a watch to live with, for these moments. Don't get me wrong, the 5110 is one of my keepers, but if I had to have only one...

The One Watch Collection
By: Cozmopak : April 20th, 2021-22:20
Every collector gets asked this question: what is your grail watch? Obviously, tastes change over time. And a collection usually implies more than one of anything. But if there was one watch that you could wear for the rest of your life, and only one, wha...
Hello Nico.

I thought you would choose your beloved Patek platinum world time 5110P! Your 16 year companion. I hope to acquire mine soon. Have a good night CB

I am of the same mind!

So for the single watch, based on this, it would have to be something beautiful, iconic, practical, comfortable, useful, rugged, hardy, and adaptable. Perhaps a black bezel submariner non-date, explorer 1, speedmaster pro, big pilot 43, snowflake, or AMVO...
This one, right here.

I'll take this. Perfect, done, don't need anything else.
If I can only wear one watch for the rest of my life
By: singingbee : April 20th, 2021-23:17
I want it to be versatile enough to wear for every situations that I will find myself in. And interesting enough that I wonât get bored of it. Therefore in my current small collection, I have to choose the Lange Odysseus. ...

I think the minimum he'd shrink down to is 3 pieces. I laughed when I saw Fab post 3 watches.
Rolex ref. 1018 for me.
By: mkvc : April 20th, 2021-23:36
If it is to be the "only" watch, it has to work with everything from business suit to bathing suit, and that includes a bathing suit worn in the water.
Great Choice!
By: sham1 : April 20th, 2021-23:40
Mine would be either one of these. Simple watches as I am always weary of complex mechanisms and their long term reliability. The Voutilainen 28E (a possible incoming) The RW Smith Series 1 (arriving by May 2022) The Patek Philippe 7200R London Edition (t...

So my ultimate grail is a bespoke watch that has flexible lugs so that it sits comfortable on the wrist and both sides of the watch can be worn (like Bovet Amadeo or the De bethune reversible) and each face has several functions. Some of the functions I w...

Because I can never have one watch only! đ Iâm thinking very hard. Truth is I like to be active, and so I want a watch that sorta fits that description. I am tempted to say the Patek 5960 ref. Reason is that the chrono function is a sporty complication......
I kept thinking the same thing
By: blau : April 21st, 2021-09:16
I owned a 5960a for a while, and the whole time I owned it, kept thinking that it deserved to be my only watch! 4 seasons, dresses up or down, looks good with everything, absolutely beautifully made, my two favorite complications (chronology and power res...

Are you saying that the above wrist shot.... is a nude?
Curious â
By: Chromatic Fugue : April 23rd, 2021-21:17
Why did you sell that 5960A â to fund the 5110?
Yep.
By: blau : April 23rd, 2021-23:24
Actually I traded it in a 2-for-1. 5960a for 5110 AND Cartier Tortue Monopoussoir. Best trade I've ever made. I miss the 5960 but can't for a moment regret giving it up.
grail watch is not the same as the only watch for the rest of your life
By: penfriend : April 21st, 2021-08:56
If i could only have only one watch for the rest of my life it would have to be multi-functional (water-resistant, alarm, solar, chronograph, word time, GPS,...) - so a Casio G-Shock MRG would be my choice. But this is not a grail watch (even though I hav...

By: amg786w : April 21st, 2021-11:56
it would have to be something very visually interesting and perhaps functional at the same time. Was fortunate enough to try these on a few years back. So definately something from an indie such a De Bethune or MB&F. One day..... ...
That violin case JDN is a great choice!
By: jleno : April 21st, 2021-16:32
For a single ultra-grail, a few other candidates come to mind. Roger Smith, Akrivia, and Kari would be all great. I also love some of the more obscure Journe pieces like the T10 and Mosaique. But my top choice at the moment would have to be the Krayon Any...

Beautiful choice
By: jmpTT : April 23rd, 2021-02:22
Absolutely love the shaped JDN case, just so exquisite. I did have a chance to observe a round JDN in the metal years ago. It simply never occurred to me to ponder how rare the piece was. It was the personal journey of its acquisition that I recall the mo...

What is plasma ceramic? I am quite confused, because some websites stated it is titanium coated with ceramic. Very nice piece btw.
Thanks for the reply
By: Cookies : August 6th, 2021-22:16
Yes, i thought the grey plasma ceramic was actually titanium. They got the grey in a realistic colour. Quite sad the titanium bathyscaphes are discontinued now.
Extreme Lab 2 for my âone watch collectionâ
By: cfn : July 30th, 2021-17:55
My choice would be the EL2 because of⌠- its ruggedness - chronograph - gmt for travelling - easy strap change for warm holidays - uniqueness - you will most likely not meet another one - brutality - it will scare off any other watches I would probably mi...
