One reason or another I am happy to see him joining our hobby
From what I have seen first hand - these days most mega rich have art collections and discussing them is considered a decent topic, unlike speaking of more "materialistic possessions" like houses, yachts and watches. I personally consider watches a form of art rather than tools/ instruments, and happy to see interest in watches spread where it didn't exist previously.

So totally understandable his new found fascination for mechanical watches. I have to say his taste is nice. all pieces are definitely beautiful and horologically significant.
Of course one can’t mature taste to make that kind of journey in 6 months
And I would think every minute of his schedule is occupied. I highly doubt he does his own watch shopping.

Dont know his history in the watch game. Maybe he was a silent collector but for what i hear he bought most of them through a well know company who is also owner of some independent brands .
