Definitely nobody is going to ban you for your fine post above. So no worries there. I thank you for your thoughtful and well crafted response.
Fortunately for you, you've been the recipient of good service at an auction house. This probably happened because of two reasons; 1, you were thorough in your due diligence; AND 2, the auction house fortunately didn't make any mistakes in the lots you bought.
BUT, that's not to say; a thoroughly careful person may still run into problems with an auction house. It definitely happens! And at this time, when the bidder has done as thorough due diligence as possible, or when an auction house falsely labels a "Laco" watch as a "Lange" watch and there are no external dial markings on the watch to prove otherwise... That's a total scam.
The stories above indicate more stories that are appropriately labeled as "scams" or "nearly scams" but fortunately for you; your auction story has been mostly smooth, with the exception of the re-dialed watch, which was not a scam by the auction house.
I'm very happy for you that you've been mostly problem free in your auction experience. Your post goes to show that there are VERY GOOD RESULTS at auction as well!
