CORRECTION: Flyback function did not appear until Chopard Mille Miglia Jacky Ickx 6/24 Edition 4
Forumners,
Apologies that I was travelling and did not have my reference books last weekend. I checked upon my return yesterday.
The perpetuated error on the InterWeb from other online so-called "sources" is that Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono Jacky Ickx editions ALL have flyback function and 24-h counters.
This is incorrect.
Editions 1 is a normal chronographs and 12-h counter with normal date size.
Edition 2 has flyback function and 12-h counter but normal date display.
Edition 3 got the 24-h counter and big date but not flyback.
Edition 4 finally got the flyback function plus the 24-h counter with big date display.
Edition 5 has all the features of predecessor except the word "Flyback" was deleted from the dial.
Jacky Ickx was quoted upon the launch of edition 4:
"For this watch, I challenged Chopard to bring together three elements to which I am extremely attached: the “flyback” function (which allows you to launch a new timing operation without needing to stop and reset the hands); a large date display, and of course the unique 24-hour counter. Mission accomplished. The mastery, know-how and professionalism of this prestigious brand once again command my respect and admiration.”
That quote was used by online "gurus" to apply to all the Jacky Ickx editions, incorrectly.

2004
I hope this clears up the error.
We always try to post the correct information.
I should have waited until I got to my reference books rather than "flying back" (sic) blind.
I am embarassed.
Regards,
MTF
