I really like a lot of what Cartier is bringing in the watch arena. They are bold yet tasteful. I have not seen this reference in particular live but the measurements look promising. One qualm I had with Cartier a decade ago was the size on the modern creations. Too big even though plenty of interesting designs and innovations. Now they are creating slimmer and more reasonably sized pieces and continuing to evolve. Even though they are playing it a bit safer than 10 years ago when it comes to design. These days it seems more a modern interpretation of a Santos or Pasha rather than new designs, which is a tad unfortunate in my opinion.
We don’t all have to always crave predictable sports watches or traditional dress watches. I personally think we need more new thinking and bold designs and engineering like what Bulgari, Cartier, Richard Mille, DeBethune, etc are working towards. Not saying either is better than the other but there are so many different ways to create and so it should evolve. Everyone should not like the same things. It would be boring then
The Genta Effect …

The Pasha de Cartier appeared in the the Cartier watch collection in 1985. The inspiration for the model was supposedly a watch made in around 1932 for the Pasha de Marrakech, however this is disputed. Gerald Genta has been credited with reviving the Pash...

Do you have some illustration of the historic piece that gave the inspiration? I have seen some faked picture of a "vintage" pasha, which never existed. I assume it could be a one-off model with some shared characteristics but I have never seen it. here i...
A good looking watch

Hello Cpt Scarlet, This is a very good looking watch and one I would buy if I were in the market for a Cartier (well, perhaps this and the yg Santos). The lume is a great touch and definitely adds to the watch's appeal. It reminds me of the Bvlgari Octo R...
A bridge too far

Poor Cartier, why do you it? More positively, a pearl in the shell. The ADLC is bad, same as i see the PVD treatments on other watches. So if Cartier follow their own way, they must be shaken waked up. 48h pr is for me ok. Getting more, silicon parts woul...

People that are negative about Cartier, give negative responses, and call it a jewelry brand, have often no idea what Cartier has in the collection. Those readers have unfortunately no idea that Cartier builds minute repeaters and tourbillon movements in ...
This misnomer …

I’m sure that competitors in the watch industry would like to propagate the mith that Cartier is “just” a jewellery brand, but the reality is very different. I would recommend anyone with any doubt should request a tour of the Cartier Manufacture in La Ch...
