Thank you Audemars Piguet Singapore.

It took 6 months but for me the results are worth the wait.

I see Royal Oak as a shipping related watch and I have been servicing the shipping industry for 40 years.

In the logo of my tanker shipping company, a part of the logo is a tankers seen from the front. The hull lines are formed from two letters "F" which also refer to the name of the shipping company.

I asked AP to create an unique oscillating weight where only the tanker would be clearly visible. Here's the result - I got my 15202 fixed and the new rotor assembled today. The service was great and the price wasn't low...

What do you think?

Best, Kari

WOw, that is beautiful! I love the logo (of course! that's your doing ;) But the way it looks in this AP is great!!!! What a terrific way to personalize this piece! Congrats and thanks for sharing. I'd love to see a shot of it, sitting on top of some of t...

Thanks. Such shots will come.

I love the watch and even now I'm wearing it - I changed today from Nautilus 5711 to this. But when I looked 15202 side-by-side with my 5402, I must say that I like the old version more. Best, Kari

:) I agree...

By: Ancienne Le Brassus : April 28th, 2015-06:18
I had a good look at the 5402 and the 15202 and while I like the strap of the 15202 (pre 2014 version) more, I love the profile/case of the 5402. That's the thing for me, the thinness of the original RO. Boht pieces in decent shape run about hte same pric...

Big congrats Kari!

Thanks. I love custom pieces

and I'm negotiating about one. But not with AP. There was a nasty small fuck-up in Singapore Boutique and it takes some time (probably a long time) before I will clm down again. Best, Kari

..

Look fantastic

I love the end result.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:33
When the service of AP Boutique is concerned, they are still tens of thousands of miles from Patek. I'm happy with the end result but I left Singapore very upset. Best, Kari

Looks great. AP rocks...

You beat me to it. I have a custom rotor designed for my 15202 but have not sent it in yet. Love the personal meaning on yours.

Here's the original design made by AP

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:30
Sorry, I could not load that. I need to change the format later. Best, Kari

Thats how the design looked like when AP took the job.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-07:55
The drawing is made by AP. I must say that I was quite amazed when the work was processed and I got some pictures while they were making it. The whole oscillating weight was first made from one piece of red gold and then everything but the tanker was rhod...

Beautfiul ! Well done !

 By: mrnoppy : April 27th, 2015-08:18
I believe you are making us all want to do our own customization ! Congrats again! looks stunning!

That would be fun.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:28
The last ones ordering now would get their rotor by 2050. Best, Kari

I love it too.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:27
But not the price. And like often with AP, finally everything did not go like planned. Best, Kari

Whaooo

Nice that you liked it. Best, Kari

I am very impressed.

Kari, that is so cool to be able to personalize your Royal Oak and have it done properly by the manufacturer. You will have such a unique watch to call your own. Big Congrats! Javier

But the re-sale value????

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:24
Best, Kari

Mine was just a low joke.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-12:08
Too often people speak about the resale value. Naturally, I will keep mine "forever". Best, Kari

It looks really nice

By: Mark in Paris : April 27th, 2015-10:33
I think it is always risky to change a watch in order to customize it. Here, integrating your nice looking logo in the rotor was an excellent idea and it looks great that way. Congratulations Kari and it is nice to see you share it here. Cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:23
Now it's a shipping man's watch. Best, Kari

It is a tanker.

In fact a 115,000 dwt ice class Aframax. You can see that it's ice class 1A because the wings of the bridge are covered. But for that you would need a loupe or better picture. Best, Kari

Wow! It looks great. And the most important thing is that

 By: Luis6 : April 27th, 2015-16:28
it means a lot to you. I don't know AP have this kind of customize service. Good job.

Yes, hopefully we will meet in April.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:20
This was the first time AP made the rotor in two colours. And they have just one guy who can make the job. Best, Kari

Wow! Just wow! [nt]

 By: Horologically_minded : April 27th, 2015-16:56

You should see it through the loupe.

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-05:18
Best, Kari

How cool is that.

 By: JerryW : April 27th, 2015-21:00
Congrats on your special addition. Best, JerryW

Thanks JerryW,

Yu are right;

I am upset and at the same time I am very happy with the oscillating weight. Sometimes I feel that I should be upset to Patek Philippe. I have learned to expect perfect service. When I go somewhere else and a lot of things are done wrong, I get upset. Thi...

About living in a perfect world ....I always wanted the same thing but living in Cairo for the past ten years made me rethink the meaning of PERFECT:)) Look at the bright side dealing with AP will make you appreciate PP more and more;)

That is very true!

I have thought a lot about the service different Brands offer. I think that all of them want to offer a top service and most of them think that they offer top service. But the issue is that they don't have the slightest idea what top service is all about....

Aloha, Kari,

Great Service is a commodity that is hard to come by. Even "good" service. I make this general statement that the consumer goods industry have not understood the concept of repeat customers. That's what I love about Japan. They are truly (for the most par...

Genta collection complete?

 By: dr.kol : April 29th, 2015-21:58
Hi Bob, Have you not heard about 40 years Anniversary Nautilus? Two pieces are still missing from my Genta collection... Best, Kari

Nicely done!

 By: ED209 : April 28th, 2015-18:25
Wow, looks fantastic and very cool to have your company's logo on the AP rotor! Regards, ED-209

I know it is a part of our logo

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-20:40
but in the end it is just a tanker. For me Royal Oak represent sea, navigation and shipping. Only now the watch is really worth its name "Royal Oak". I mean for me. Best, Kari

Nicely done and unique rotor

 By: Watchlover78 : April 28th, 2015-18:42
Best regards, Baxter

I hope it stays Unique!

 By: dr.kol : April 28th, 2015-20:42
Believe or not, I feel the difference when wearing the watch and knowing that the rotor is perfect. I would not believe if somebody told that kind of rubbish... Best, Kari

Very Cool!

 By: benlee338 : April 29th, 2015-03:10
Didn't know they could do that. You must be a special customer for them.

Very cook it is.

 By: dr.kol : April 29th, 2015-03:48
But I am not a special customer. My 15202 was the 2nd watch I bought from AP Boutique. And please remember, such a rotor is also costing money . In fact quite much if I imagine the hours worked and divide the price with the hours. Anyhow, I'm very satisfi...

Really cool! [nt]

amazing

I love seeing customized rotors on ROs. Did you do it at time of purchase, or did you request it afterward? What is the process for doing so, if you wouldn't mind sharing with us?

I ordered the rotor when ordering the watch.

 By: dr.kol : May 22nd, 2015-14:46
However, AP has one Master Goldsmith who is capable of doing this kind of job and thus, the delivery time of the oscillating weight was some five months. It was a pleasure to work this idea through with AP. First they made a drawing I accepted. Then I got...

Awesome

 By: Bill : May 23rd, 2015-07:13
That is about as good as it gets. Bravo to you and Bravo the Audemars Piguet for its excellent workmanship and recognition of its clients needs. Over and above. Bravo. Bill

Thanks Bill.

When I'll get the watch serviced again and itnstarts hopefully to work, I will be very happy. Best, Kari
