Dr. Kol presents a compelling discussion on the art of watch selection for formal business attire, particularly when traveling for high-stakes negotiations. He showcases three distinct luxury timepieces—an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202, an Audemars Piguet QP ref. 25820, and a Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3712—each paired with appropriate cufflinks, inviting the community to weigh in on the ideal combination for a professional setting.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" ref. 15202 is a significant reference within the Royal Oak collection, known for its close adherence to the original 1972 design. It maintains the distinctive slim profile and integrated bracelet that defined the initial Royal Oak, distinguishing it from other Royal Oak models that introduced different sizes or complications. This reference is particularly valued for its historical continuity and minimalist approach to the Royal Oak aesthetic.
This reference features a 39mm case, typically crafted from yellow gold, with a thickness of 8.1mm. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. Powering the watch is the self-winding Caliber 2121, a movement known for its slimness and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The dial is presented in blue, complementing the yellow gold case and bracelet.
For collectors, the 15202 represents a direct link to the Royal Oak's origins, appealing to those who prioritize historical accuracy and understated design. Its production run from 2012 to 2019 makes it a sought-after reference among enthusiasts of the "Jumbo" lineage. The combination of its classic dimensions, integrated bracelet, and the Caliber 2121 solidifies its position as a key reference in the Audemars Piguet catalog.
I prefer the skeleton version, but the pain dial is really nice, too. Best, Nicolas
and now I'm wrestling with myself: I found a brand new skeleton in Platinum... It's not very readable, platinum is soft, it's heavy, it's expensive. But... I am also considering the "simple skeleton", waiting for the in-house chronograph. Decisions, decisions. Anyhow, I'm happy with the latest acquisitions. Best, Kari PS. you did not say which of the three was the best combination when discussing about the need of favourable tax treatment.
one of the reasons and the smallest one was that the total taxes of my investment company and my personal taxes was around 80%. It was nearly like living in France! Here in Estonia the roof is placed to 20% but in Singapore it's possible to get much much more favourable terms than in Estonia. I love taxes as much as you do! Best, Kari
I would probably go wearing a swatch and a button-cuff shirt. Otherwise the first combination, the simple RO is the best in my opinion.
On the other hand I promised to bring a remarkable tanker fleet under the control of a Singapore based company. Would it be best to use a watch with diamonds in such a situation? Best, Kari
one with the emblem of a sultanat from the Middle East, if we are talking about a fleet of tanker. You could also wear a gift watch from one of the big petrol company that you get with the redemption points. But it would not be serious. Stick to the RO then. Best. Tibo
