I ordered the rotor when ordering the watch.
However, AP has one Master Goldsmith who is capable of doing this kind of job and thus, the delivery time of the oscillating weight was some five months.
It was a pleasure to work this idea through with AP. First they made a drawing I accepted. Then I got the pictures of the nearly ready rotor made of 18 k red gold. I started to think that the tanker would be more visible if the rest of the rotor would be of the same colour than the movement. AP agreed to rhodium plate all other parts of the oscillating weight except the tanker.
So in reality, the whole oscillating weight is one piece. Superb workmanship!

It is a tanker.
In fact a 115,000 dwt ice class Aframax. You can see that it's ice class 1A because the wings of the bridge are covered. But for that you would need a loupe or better picture. Best, Kari
