True story as relayed by my pal Scott, who posts here . . .

. . . occasionally under the log-in sdd7820:
Scott was shepherding a group of new employees at a company function when he noticed a young lady wearing what appeared to be a Paul Newman.
Figuring it had to be fake, he angled for a closer look. Sure enough, it was the real deal. What he couldn't figure out was how an employee who made five figures annually was wearing a six figure watch on her wrist.
To make a long story short, it was gifted to her by her father. Bought a Sub around the same time, too, in the early '70s, which ended up with her brother.
She had no idea how much it was worth. Scott gave her a few pieces of friendly advice. The most important? Not to go partying in Hollywood that evening after the company function was over.
And yes, it was in practically perfect condition.
